An angle‑seat valve has a piston or diaphragm that lifts off an angled seat to permit water flow. Because the seat is angled relative to the flow path, the valve can close quickly without causing water hammer. These valves are chosen when rapid on/off action is required, such as for fertigation injection or pulse irrigation.
