“CNL” stands for compensating non‑leakage. These variants contain a built‑in check valve that prevents water from draining out of the dripline until a threshold pressure is reached. This non‑leakage mechanism enables pulse irrigation—short on/off cycles without draining the lines—and prevents suction of dirt back into the emitters on undulating terrain. The HCNL version (“high‑compensating non‑leakage”) maintains a wider pressure‑compensation range.
